Information about course
The music course in Balassagyarmat takes place between 20-31st July, 2011. The teachers of the course are outstanding artists of the Hungarian musical education and guest professors from several music colleges of Europe.
The students (participants) are musicians aged 14-30. No age limit for cimbalom players. The tuition is adapted to individual needs. Classes are held between 08.30 and 13.00 every morning.
Participants can visit the chamber music course, the orchestra and the choir in addition to 5 individual classes and have at least one opportunity to perform. Participants usually play works already prepared at home, everybody brings his/her own notes. Accompanists are provided.
Balassagyarmat is situated 80 km to the north-east from Budapest, it is easily accessible by bus. The journey takes 2 hours, the fee is about 8 EUROs. Buses leave at the bus station near the stop "Újpest Városkapu" of the metro line every hour.
The bus arrives in the centre of Balassagyarmat, the student hostel is about 10 minutes on foot (http://www.rozsavolgyiart.hu/honlap_en/muzsikustabor/bgyterkep.jpg).
On the basis of agreement in advance we organize the journey from Budapest.
Students are put up in a student hostel in fourbed-rooms. Families and married couples are provided a private room. We can also provide a room in a small hotel for an extra fee. Beside tuition and accommodation the participation fee includes 3 meals a day. 3-4 hour trips are organized to visit the sights around in the country. For these programs you have to apply on the spot and you also have to pay an extra fee.

Announcement for Competition
The artistic leadership of the Music Without Borders International Music Camp in Balassagyarmat announces a competition for the students of the course.
You can apply for the competition in two categories:
Leó Weiner’s works and works of Hungarian composers written after 1945. The aim of the competition is to make Hungarian works internationally well-known and to introduce Leo Weiner’s works. Only students of the International Music Camp can take part in the competition. You can take part with solo instruments. Accompaniment is provided by the organizers of the camp. All students of the camp can participate regardless their age. The program time is at least 5 minutes and maximum 20 minutes. The competitors are free to select their program within this time restriction in both categories. Performances are judged by a jury made up from 5 teachers of the music camp. All performances are evaluated according to the work’s level. Both the participant’s age and the niveau of interpretation are taken into consideration. There is no participation fee. Prizes in the value of 200000 HUF are divided among the winners. The Jury can award a Great Prize. In addition, there are 1. 2. and 3. prizes called niveau prize and appreciation. The competition has only one turn. The date of the competition is 24. July 2009.
